Just wanted to let you all know that John did make it safely home without any troubles. Our snow turned to all rain today. At least the boys were able to go sledding yesterday.

Long Time Coming

I know its been a while. Sorry about that. Gotta say there isn't a whole lot going on here. To look outside it looks like we might finally be having some winter weather. The boys were out sledding for a little while today till they were to cold. There wasn't a lot on the ground and it looked like it was actually freezing rain when they decided to come in. Now it looks like snow again. How pretty it looks especially being inside looking out. I am hoping that John will be able to get home from work tonight. He has 4 wheel drive, but as he so wonderfully reminded me, it doesn't do him much good when the roads are icy. And if the 3rd shift people aren't able to get in he may have to stay. We hope that everyone is doing well.

I am still enjoying taking my piano lessons. 30 minutes goes very quick when I feel like I have so much to learn. But then it's probably a good I only have 30 minute lessons. I sometimes walk away feeling like I haven't completely comprehended what she just told me. Good thing she writes down what I'm supposed to do.

Well, I have to go and start putting dinner together. If anyone ever has some really good recipes that they like and don't mind sharing them, send them my way. We enjoy trying new things. The nice thing with living with mom and dad is that they enjoy trying new things also and they usually like it even if John and I don't care for it.

It's never to late to continue learning.

Well, I started taking piano lessons today. I had taken in elementary through 11th grade then had given up because I hated to practice. So now I have picked it back up again and am trying to better the talent that The Lord has given me. So thats the excitement that is going on here for today. Hope everyone is doing well.

Snow!!

Well, sorry for the delay in blogging. There hasn't been a lot going on since Joel's birthday. We had some snow yesterday that the boys were able to go out and sled. They had fun being outside in the snow and it looked so beautiful. I wish that I would have taken some pictures of the trees with the snow on them. But then it turned to rain so almost all the snow is gone today already. At least the boys were able to be out in it yesterday.

I think that Joel was pulling Elijah down the hill and was about wiped out.

Some video clips of them having a good time sledding...

They finally were cold enough that they wanted to come in to warm up by the fire.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEL!!

Hard to believe my baby was 3 yesterday. Now hopefully he will get the potty training down and SOON be out of pull-ups!! We had his party on Saturday. Friends from church came down for pizza, chips, & cake. Joel enjoyed his gifts & most of all getting $$ from his mom-mom & pop-pop. (See picture below) We hope that everyone had a very nice New Years! Our Church has many comings events in 2008. Already planned is our Youth camp in June, our 5th Annual Sword Conference in October. May the Lord richly bless you & your families through this year.

Merry Christmas to All!!

Our Family would like to take this time to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. The boys were up around 6:30. Growing up I was always allowed to open a gift on Christmas Eve. John and I talked about it and since we were not giving them a whole bunch of gifts, they couldn't really open a gift from us on Christmas Eve, so they were able to open their stockings after dinner. Then we waited for Santa to come down in front of the house on the firetruck. The boys kept asking about it all day but when we finally went out to wait for it, they were not to sure. But after Santa came and one of the fireman gave them each a little bag of candy they were glad they were outside to see him go by. After that we all went out with mom-mom and pop-pop to look at Christmas lights. Some houses were all decked out, others had just a few lights, and others had none. When we got home we let them open a package that was from their Great Grandma Thompson. They were matching PJ's that they wore to bed. Thank You Great Grandma!!

When the boys woke up John made Biscuits & Gravy for breakfast. Mmmm, that sure was good again!

From Left to Right: Grammy Godshall, my Mom & Dad, Joel, Elijah & John.(Being goofy
as usual)

After Breakfast, we read the Christmas story in Luke 2 & sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Then FINALLY to the boys delight it was time for presents!!!! The picture below is of the gifts that they had gotten today. I made the blankets that are behind them, also the Bible Covers. But you probably can't see it well because their Patch the Pirate CD's are in front of them.

Here are some little video clips of the boys opening their gifts.

Childrens Christmas Program

Well, I just couldn't wait to post until after Christmas about the Children's Program last night at Church. All the kids did a wonderful job. I think Joel may have stolen the show, although, I could be a bit prejudice. Elijah & Joel both said their parts well. See video clips of their parts. I put the video clips of their songs during practice since I didn't get very much of them singing when the actual program was going on. I was laughing at Joel singing his little heart out. If you listen closely you will understand why. If you can't quite hear it, just listen for the little voice that is usually about 1/2 a phrase behind the others.

Joel's part... Sorry that it's sideways, i can't figure out how to switch it around. I think he impressed me the most because of his age. He won't be 3 till January 6 so we weren't sure if he would say it or even go up by himself.
He says, "Happy Birthday Jesus."

Elijah's part... He will be sideways for a little while, but it will soon change so that it's the right way. After each of them said their little parts they were all supposed to say another phrase but they must of got stage fright...

We hope that you enjoyed that little bit of entertainment that Elijah & Joel bring to our lives quite often around the house.
