Merry Christmas to All!!

Our Family would like to take this time to wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. The boys were up around 6:30. Growing up I was always allowed to open a gift on Christmas Eve. John and I talked about it and since we were not giving them a whole bunch of gifts, they couldn't really open a gift from us on Christmas Eve, so they were able to open their stockings after dinner. Then we waited for Santa to come down in front of the house on the firetruck. The boys kept asking about it all day but when we finally went out to wait for it, they were not to sure. But after Santa came and one of the fireman gave them each a little bag of candy they were glad they were outside to see him go by. After that we all went out with mom-mom and pop-pop to look at Christmas lights. Some houses were all decked out, others had just a few lights, and others had none. When we got home we let them open a package that was from their Great Grandma Thompson. They were matching PJ's that they wore to bed. Thank You Great Grandma!!

PJ's from Great Grandma Thompson

When the boys woke up John made Biscuits & Gravy for breakfast. Mmmm, that sure was good again!

From Left to Right: Grammy Godshall, my Mom & Dad, Joel, Elijah & John.(Being goofy
as usual)

After Breakfast, we read the Christmas story in Luke 2 & sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Then FINALLY to the boys delight it was time for presents!!!! The picture below is of the gifts that they had gotten today. I made the blankets that are behind them, also the Bible Covers. But you probably can't see it well because their Patch the Pirate CD's are in front of them.

Here are some little video clips of the boys opening their gifts.

Childrens Christmas Program

Well, I just couldn't wait to post until after Christmas about the Children's Program last night at Church. All the kids did a wonderful job. I think Joel may have stolen the show, although, I could be a bit prejudice. Elijah & Joel both said their parts well. See video clips of their parts. I put the video clips of their songs during practice since I didn't get very much of them singing when the actual program was going on. I was laughing at Joel singing his little heart out. If you listen closely you will understand why. If you can't quite hear it, just listen for the little voice that is usually about 1/2 a phrase behind the others.

Joel's part... Sorry that it's sideways, i can't figure out how to switch it around. I think he impressed me the most because of his age. He won't be 3 till January 6 so we weren't sure if he would say it or even go up by himself.
He says, "Happy Birthday Jesus."

Elijah's part... He will be sideways for a little while, but it will soon change so that it's the right way. After each of them said their little parts they were all supposed to say another phrase but they must of got stage fright...

We hope that you enjoyed that little bit of entertainment that Elijah & Joel bring to our lives quite often around the house.

One Armed Man For A Couple Days

Well, I guess John wasn't getting enough attention so he had to go an do something to his arm. He was working outside last Monday on his day off and started getting a pain in his forearm. Didn't think much of it till last night at work he said he moved just so and something didn't feel right. So we went to the ER this afternoon to get an X-ray.
Praise the Lord they were not able to find any breaks or even fractures. So they think it just might be a slite sprain. They gave him the sling to wear for a couple days and sent us on our way. Thankfully with it being the Christmas week he has Monday & Tuesday off so he will hopefully able to rest it.
Tomorrow evening the Children have their Christmas program. Elijah & Joel both have parts in it. Don't worry pictures will be posted in the days to come of them. Probably after Christmas then I will post Christmas pictures as well.

Hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas and don't forget in all the rush the REAL REASON FOR THE SEASON.

Wintery Weather

Hey everyone. Well even though we were not in Church today I have sure enjoyed my day. Due to wintery weather we did not try to make it to Church. But of course we are making the best of it. When we decided we were not going to risk heading to Church, mom quickly whipped up some Egg & Ham Casserole for breakfast. Mmmm was that good!!!! After that we played a game of Memory with Elijah & Joel. John won! But both boys do well at playing and enjoy it for the most part unless they aren't winning. So we have to remind them that it is not all about winning. For church we tuned into Mountain Lake Independent Baptist Church in Oakland, MD via Internet and listened to Pastor Dennis Leatherman (Krista's cousin). We enjoyed lunch in the living room. The boys and John did hot dogs in the wood burner.
While the boys were sleeping I worked on Elijah's Bible Cover that I am making him for Christmas. We just enjoyed a delicious warm Apple pie with ice cream. Which was supposed to be for our Christmas Cantata tonight but due to weather it has been postponed to Dec. 30th. Just thought I would blog about my enjoyable day so far while John is watching the Eagles/Cowboys game! GO EAGLES!!! Hope that you all had a wonderful Lords Day in your Churches. Later on we will roast marshmallows and make smores.

FINALLY LOOKS LIKE CHRISTMAS!!

Hi Everyone! Well, mom-mom finally put the Christmas Tree up. Either she thought she should do it before it twas the night before or she got tired of Elijah asking WHEN she going to put the tree up. Elijah & Joel are thrilled that it is finally up, and there are presents underneath. They have both been warned not to touch the Tree OR the presents. So far they have been just checking out the gifts underneath. Wandering who gets the one that has Thomas on it or who gets the ones with the snowmen. I wish that our computer was working so that we could upload pictures of the boys, but that will come in time. Please be patient, and hopefully you'll enjoy the blogging without the pictures for right now.

We hope that you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
